World AIDS Day: SAMHSA Spotlights Innovative Approaches to Combat the HIV Epidemic

World AIDS Day serves as an annual rallying call for collaborative efforts to eradicate the HIV epidemic globally and in the United States. This year marks the 35th anniversary of World AIDS Day, providing an occasion to remember those lost to AIDS-related illnesses, honor the 40 million people worldwide and 1.2 million Americans living with HIV, and raise awareness about the crucial facets of HIV, including testing, prevention, care, and treatment. The theme for this year, "Remember and Commit," underscores the urgency of our collective dedication to ending the HIV epidemic. While progress has been made, challenges persist, particularly in communities where limited awareness, access, and HIV-related stigma impede the comprehensive implementation and acceleration of effective tools for HIV prevention and treatment.
