In a partnership involving seven of the nation's foremost open-air shopping center owners, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (988 Lifeline) and Vibrant Emotional Health (Vibrant), the administrators of the 988 Lifeline funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), have officially unveiled an ambitious project. In early October, they announced the installation of more than 8,400 "Signs of HOPE" across 1,450 shopping centers in 40 U.S. states. The primary goal is to raise awareness about the availability of emotional support services for individuals experiencing distress.
Esteemed open-air shopping center owners, including Brixmor Property Group, Kimco Realty, Kite Realty Group, Peterson Companies, Regency Centers, Sterling Organization, and Urban Edge Properties, have come together to elevate awareness and educate customers about mental and emotional well-being. It is estimated that 251 million people make 4.2 billion annual visits to the 1,450 open-air centers participating in this initiative.
