Vibrant led a coalition letter of 10 additional mental health organizations in supporting H.R. 498, known as the "9-8-8 Lifeline Cybersecurity Responsibility Act". This bipartisan bill, introduced by Representatives Jay Obernolte (R-CA) and Tony Cardenas (D-CA), is intended to protect the security and integrity of the national suicide and mental health crisis hotline, helping to ensure this vital program is protected against future cyberattacks and prevent disruption of service. The bill was voted out of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee by a vote of 27-0 on March 8th and will next be heard in the full committee on March 23rd.
