The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs announced that as of January 17, 2023, U.S. military veterans who are in “acute suicidal crisis” are eligible for free emergency mental health services at a VA facility or non-VA facility. An estimated 9 million veterans who are not currently enrolled in the VA will be covered by the new policy. Learn more here.
