Tell Congress to Support Student Veterans
The Post-9/11 GI Bill changed lives, helping millions of veterans earn degrees and launch new careers. But the book stipend that helps them afford textbooks and supplies hasn’t been adjusted since 2009.

That means every year, student veterans lose ground to inflation. Textbooks, lab equipment, and online materials now cost far more than the $1,000 annual stipend provides. A recent Student Veterans of America survey found that nearly half of student veterans must pay out of pocket or go without required materials.

Congress can fix this. H.R.1965, Veteran Education Assistance Adjustment Act, would adjust the book stipend to $1,400 and tie future increases to inflation, ensuring this vital benefit keeps pace with the real cost of education.

This bill has strong bipartisan support, but it needs more cosponsors to move forward. Every call, every email, every voice counts.

👉 Tell your representative: Support and cosponsor H.R.1965 today.

Our veterans earned this benefit through honorable service. They shouldn’t have to choose between buying books and paying bills.
