Mayor Bowser released her FY 24 Budget on March 22nd! Sadly, the Mayor's budget fails to make meaningful progress towards our shared goal of ending chronic homelessness. Now we need your help to ensure the DC Council fills in the significant gaps. 

Click here to see our budget priorities.  DC residents have the power to shape the budget by testifying at oversight hearings, submitting questions to the Council, and by contacting your council members to advocate for what you want to see in the budget.

Between March and April, the DC Council hosts oversight hearings about both the performance and budgets of all DC's agencies. This is a chance to share your thoughts about DC's homelessness crisis, the slow implementation of funded vouchers, the urgent need for more low-income housing, DC's treatment of homeless encampments, and anything else!

• April 25th-27th, 2023 – Committee Mark Ups and Reporting  
• May 3rd, 2023 – Council Budget Work Session  
• May 16th, 2023 – Committee of the Whole Council Consideration of FY 24 Budget  

Testifying at these budget hearings is a great way to voice what you feel is important for DC to fund this fiscal year. If you are unable to testify you are also able to write testimony to submit to the council to make your voice heard!
