Support the House Farm Bill – Strengthen Texas’ Green Industry

Ask Your Member of Congress to Support the House Farm Bill

The House Farm Bill is expected to move to the floor the week of April 27, 2026, following bipartisan approval by the House Agriculture Committee.

Current Farm Bill programs no longer reflect the realities facing today’s agricultural economy: especially for specialty crop producers, nursery and greenhouse operations, and landscape businesses. These sectors require modern tools to remain competitive, resilient, and sustainable.

The House Farm Bill includes key provisions that directly support the green industry by:

  • Strengthening specialty crop research and innovation
  • Enhancing plant pest and disease prevention programs
  • Reauthorizing the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program
  • Expanding disaster assistance for tree, nursery, and perennial growers
  • Supporting automation and workforce solutions to address ongoing labor shortages

For Texas, these policies are especially critical.

The green industry contributes $35 billion in economic output and supports more than 224,000 jobs across Texas . From growers to landscape professionals, our industry is a major driver of economic growth, environmental stewardship, and community development.

A modernized Farm Bill ensures that our industry can continue to:

  • Protect plant health and prevent invasive species
  • Invest in research and water-efficient practices
  • Maintain a reliable workforce
  • Strengthen supply chains and local economies
