The 2025 US Appropriations process in full swing. With the announcement of President Biden's funding for Education, which provides an increase of $50 million for Title III, English language acquisition, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
While the proposed increase, bringing the total of Title III to $940 million for FY25, is appreciated, it falls well short of what is needed to meet the needs of MLEs in US public education. Based on inflation and the growing numbers of MLEs, our schools need $2 billion for Title III just to keep pace.
Contact your Members of Congress today and let them know why funding Title III is important to you, your school, your community, and your students!
