This year, we launched the Just Like Me (JLM) Report Cards—the latest evolution of our Report Cards Project. Built with survivor insight, the JLM Report Cards grade every state on 10 core policy goals needed to end the unjust criminalization of trafficked children. These goals focus on four critical areas: identifying victims, preventing criminalization, remedying collateral consequences, and providing specialized supports.
Too often, children are left unprotected because states fail to invest in prevention, community-based services, and non-punitive responses. Without comprehensive action, young people will continue to fall through the cracks and suffer lasting harm.
That’s why we’re calling on advocates and allies to share the JLM Report Cards with lawmakers and demand reforms that protect children, hold offenders accountable, and fund the services survivors need to heal.
Together, we can move beyond short-term fixes and deliver the systemic change needed to end the unjust criminalization of child sex trafficking victims.
