Georgia Only - Tell Governor Kemp to Stop the Criminalization of the Homeless (VETO HB 295)
Tell the Governor to veto HB 295.  As you may recall, HB 295 would allow property owners and tenants to sue local governments for allegedly failing to enforce certain public nuisance laws—provisions widely understood to increase the arrest and criminalization of our unhoused neighbors. This approach risks further destabilizing individuals rather than connecting them to the support and housing they need, and, it opens the door to expensive frivolous lawsuits at taxpayer expense.
