This morning, Governor Hochul announced that a budget agreement has been reached. This means that the budget will pass very soon – the latest budget deadline extender only lasts until Monday, 5/11. Our network has done a great job telling legislators about the crucial role Independent Living Centers have in their community throughout the long budget season, and this is the final stretch. 

 

Fiscal details will be decided quickly. A funding increase for Independent Living Centers MUST be a priority! Call and email Speaker Carl Heastie, Senate Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and Governor Hochul today to tell them to include a funding increase for Independent Living Centers in the final budget.
