Increase Early Intervention Funding
The Governor and the leaders of the Legislature are convening to finalize the state budget for 2026.  Both the Senate and the Assembly budget proposals have increased funding for Early Intervention services for New York children in need of it.  The Governor's budget offers no new funding.

Early Intervention has been terribly underfunded for many years.  Even with the proposed increases, it still will be, but it will be movement in the right direction.

Evidence shows that investing in Early Intervention supports children at a critical point in their development. Early support helps children succeed in school, build confidence, and remain on a positive path. Over time, this leads to improved outcomes, fewer challenges, and greater opportunities. These children are more likely to grow into adults who are independent, successful, and actively engaged in their communities; benefiting not only themselves, but society as a whole.

Please reach out to the Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, the Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and Governor Kathy Hochul and implore them to invest in our state's future by increasing funding for Early Intervention.
