Day of Action to Protect Medicaid!
Join STIC and advocates across the country for a Day of Action to Protect Medicaid on March 18, 2025!

While last week's continuing resolution passed by Congress will not drastically affect health programs, the Energy and Commerce Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives has been tasked with finding long term budget cuts which may begin as early as October 1st, 2025—and Medicaid is at risk. These cuts could jeopardize vital services for millions of Americans, including those with disabilities who rely on Medicaid for access to supports which help keep us in our communities of choice.

We cannot let this happen. Now is the time to make our voices heard and demand that Medicaid funding, and the access to critical services it allows for, is protected, not reduced.

Take action with us on March 18th! Members of the House of Representatives will be in their districts this week. Use the following action alert to send your representatives letters or call them to demand they protect Medicaid to ensure access to needed services and supports! See below for more.

The disability rights movement has made a huge difference working to ensure that all people have access to the services, support, and dignity they want and deserve. Today, these critical supports and services are in serious jeopardy!

A national budget resolution in the US House of Representatives proposes deep cuts to Medicaid, putting millions of Americans at risk!  We call on Congress to reject any cuts that will jeopardize the health and well-being of Medicaid beneficiaries across the nation.

Critical services such as these are also at risk:

We cannot let decades of advocacy and rights protections be undone! We must ensure that Medicaid remains strong, fully funded, and accessible to all who need it.

Take Action Today!

We have created the following alert to ease the process for you to quickly take multiple actions today.

  1. Send a Letter: Use this letter to contact your members of Congress and urge them to oppose Medicaid cuts. You can also customize your message to share why access to Medicaid is important to you.
  2. Make a Call: Call your representatives to tell them to defend Medicaid and protect mental health services. We have included a script for reference.
  3. Spread the Word: Invite your friends, family, and colleagues to join the movement and take action. Every voice matters!
