But, because parliamentary procedure is baroque and confounding, it needs the votes to have a vote. And Congress will not meet many more days before its session comes to an end and the bill has to start all over again next year.
We've asked you to reach out to your member of Congress on this before, but now, time grows short. We would like you to call their Washington, DC, offices, and ask them once again to sign the discharge petition, which is akin to a vote to have a vote.

If they're there, send them an email saying "thank you" in your own words. If they haven't, let's ring their phones off the hook!
