Please Commute the Federal Death Row
The  federal death penalty applies in all 50 states. The Federal Death Penalty Act of 1994 expanded the number of eligible offenses to 60.

There have only been 16 federal executions since 1976, with 13 of those executions between July 2020 and January 2021.

The death penalty at the state and federal levels perpetuates injustice, especially for Black, Brown and economically disadvantaged persons, who are most vulnerable to wrongful convictions and death sentences.  Continuing the federal death penalty increases the risk of killing innocent people.

President Biden has expressed an interest in ending the federal death penalty, and taking action on the death penalty will secure his legacy as a leader who honors the life and dignity of the human person.

We are asking President Biden to commute the death sentences of the 40 people on death row to life in prison without parole. This action cannot be undone.  He has until January 20, 2025 to take action.
