Say NO to Unfunded Mandates in Homeownership
The cost of buying a home in New York is already high enough. But now, the state’s Fire Prevention and Building Code Council - an unelected body - may require all new residential housing in New York State have a fire sprinkler system, like those installed in high rise buildings.

The New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR) does not oppose fire sprinklers. But an unfunded state mandate requiring them in all new single-family construction takes away consumer choice and further increases the cost of homeownership in New York.

Please use the form on this page to send a pre-written message urging New York officials to OPPOSE this unfunded mandate.
