With the Autism CARES September 30 expiration looming, the Senate has just introduced its version of the bill. This legislation would reauthorize funding for federal autism research, support, and services for the next five years. 

Things are moving quickly! S.4762 (Autism CARES), sponsored by Senators Collins and Lujan, is scheduled to be heard in executive session in the Senate HELP Committee next Wednesday, July 31. 

Your Help is Needed to Make Sure the Bill Helps People with Profound Autism

As the Senate HELP Committee meets and considers the bill's language, they must hear from the profound autism community.  

• Please take a moment to contact your legislator, reminding them that people with profound autism must be included in research, supports, and services that are provided in Autism CARES. Without clarity, our population will continue to suffer.
• You can easily take action by entering your address in the provided form. This will automatically identify your legislator.
• Please ask friends and family to take action as well. It's an easy way for them to provide support.
