Once again, the Trump-Vance administration is attacking the well-being of veterans across the country by banning their access to abortion care. On New Year's Eve, the Trump-Vance administration finalized a rule that bans access to abortion even in cases of rape, incest, and the health of the pregnant person.
In addition to pushing abortion care out of reach for veterans and their loved ones, the rule also bans abortion counseling in all circumstances. There are nearly 300,000 women veterans of reproductive age as well as queer, transgender, and nonbinary veterans that rely on the Veteran's Health Administration (VHA) for health care who will be denied necessary medical care, even in the worst of circumstances.
The Senate is expected to vote this month on S.J. Res 103, legislation that would undo this harmful ban. It's important that your policymakers hear from you. Contact your Senators and tell them to support and vote yes on S.J. Res 103 to rescind the VA abortion ban.
