Congress is still considering how to spend federal resources for the 2025 fiscal year. With so many competing priorities, it is critical that the new Congress understands how important it is to fund ovarian cancer research and education programs. For the next fiscal year we are requesting:
- $15M for Johanna's Law to promote education and awareness around all gynecologic cancers.
- $20M for the Ovarian Cancer Control Initiative to improve provider education, high-risk screening, and clinical adherence to ovarian cancer practice guidelines.
- $50M for the Ovarian Cancer Research Program within the DoD's Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP) - the only program dedicated to ovarian cancer research within the federal government.
We are well into the new fiscal year, and research programs are at risk if a long-term funding deal isn't struck. Congress must finish the job on FY 2025 appropriations before funding runs out on December 20. Please take action now.
