NYSCAL respectfully requests that the Legislature support a one-time 10% increase, at a minimum, to the State Supplemental Program (SSP) monthly rate for assisted living providers to carry out the State’s renewed commitment to high-quality care and reinvest in its aging population. This rate must continue to be adjusted for inflation going forward. 

ALPs serve individuals who are medically eligible for nursing home placement, but in a lower-cost setting, while accepting both Medicaid and SSI (federal)/SSP (state) reimbursement to pay for care. The last time providers received an increase from New York was in 2007. A 10% increase, at a minimum, would cost the State roughly $8 million – but must be included in each State Budget going forward.
