Too often, unmarried dads get left out of their children's lives and have little or no recourse to see and be a parent to their child without going through a costly legal battle with no guarantee of parenting time. South Dakota's SB 181 would guarantee at least minimum noncustodial parenting time to an unmarried father following establishment of paternity.
