Alabama Nurse Practitioners,
๐ Protocol Changes
Weโre excited to share some great news from the most recent Joint Committee meeting! Thanks to ongoing advocacy and collaboration, new protocol improvements have been approved that expand and strengthen NP practice in our state:
โจ Neuromodulator Toxins โ NPs may now directly purchase neuromodulator toxins.
๐ฉบ Critical Care / Advanced Protocol Revisions โ
โ
Condensed CVL protocol
โ
Reduced required numbers for paracentesis & thoracentesis
โ
Specialty skills now standard: MSCT, femoral arterial lines, tunneled CVL removal
These updates remove unnecessary barriers and give NPs more tools to deliver safe, high-quality, and timely care for patients across Alabama. ๐
๐ New NP Appointments
We are also pleased to announce the newest nurse practitioner appointments to the Joint Committee:
๐ NPAA Nominee: Sams Elebash โ Active member of the NPAA Policy Committee
๐ ASNA Nominee: Laura Hart โ Executive Director of the Alabama State Nurses Association
We sincerely thank the outgoing nurse practitioner representatives for their dedication and collaborative efforts over the past several years. Their work has strengthened the foundation for continued progress and partnership. ๐ค
๐ช Thank you for standing with NPAAโtogether, weโre advancing practice and making a difference for our profession and our patients! ๐
