Nevada AB 163 - Counseling Compact
The Nevada legislature has introduced Counseling Compact bill AB 163 and legislators need to hear from stakeholders who support the compact!

Please advocate for increased access to mental health services by sharing with your legislators that as of December 2024, 38 states/jurisdictions (Compact Map) have passed legislation to join the compact. You can find more information, including up-coming meeting dates here, if you would like to attend any commission or committee meeting. All commission meetings are open to the public.

The Counseling Compact will:

  • expand the mobility of the counseling workforce
  • enable counselors to serve clients who are increasingly engaged in multi-state employment and education
  • facilitate efficient licensure processes for military-connected families
  • ensure that proper regulatory processes necessary for the protection of the public are maintained and completed

The counseling compact is more important now than ever before! Due to significant shifts in client mobility, including opportunities for remote work and education, cross-state movement and engagement has increased. This further highlights the need for counselors to have the privilege to practice in multiple states and Nevada's citizens will be well-served by enacting AB 163.

Visit the Nevada Legislature for up-to-date bill information. We urge you to contact your legislators to request support of this bill.
