AARP endorses Counselors in Medicare
March 29, 2018 by NBCC Government Affairs
The AARP is endorsing H.B. 3032 and S.B. 1879 for inclusion in the omnibus spending bill to be considered by Congress. The bills would provide coverage of mental health counselor and marriage and family therapist services under Medicare Part B.

AARP Senior Vice President Joyce A. Rogers says having counselors eligible to take Medicare clients "is especially important as mental and behavioral health issues are becoming an increasing problem for older Americans - a problem that will only escalate further as the population ages."
