January 7, 2022 by NBCC Government Affairs

Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) and Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS) introduced the Post-9/11 Veterans’ Mental Health Care Improvement Act of 2021. The legislation makes several workforce-related investments in VA to expand the ability of individual facilities to provide care to veterans. It also requires VA to study inpatient mental health utilization and the treatment of co-occurring mental health disorders among veterans. Please find more information about this legislation and what NBCC is doing to support the inclusion of counselors in this bill here Bill
