On January 31, 2025, , Reps Greg Murphy, MD (R-NC) and Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), along with Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, MD (R-IA), John Joyce, MD (R-PA), Carol Miller (R-WV), Claudia Tenney (R-NY), Raul Ruiz, MD (D-CA), Kim Schrier, MD (D-WA), Ami Bera, MD (D-CA), and Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-CA), introduced HR 879, the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act. Additional cosponsors include Reps Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), Andy Harris (R-MD), and Rich McCormick (R-GA).
The legislation adds an additional 6.62% to the MPFS CF effective April 1 through December 31st, 2025. The 6.62% incorporates eliminating the entirety of the existing reduction, reflects inflationary pressures and accounts for the lower Q1 CF.
