Although the Massachusetts House pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) bill vote last week showcased a powerful vote of 158 to 0, today is THE LAST of the legislation session in the state of Massachusetts. NACDS RxIMPACT advocates: don’t let PBM reform die in session today because of other issues as patients and pharmacies can’t wait!
If you are not one of the hundreds that have already acted, this is the last moment to act. WE TRULY NEED YOUR HELP!
With YOUR continued and active engagement, the House approved a PBM reform proposal. By a resounding vote of 158 to 0 the House approved this legislative solution that would protect access to neighborhood pharmacies by regulating PBMs manipulation of drug pricing and pharmacy reimbursement. Thank you for your work helping us educate the House these reforms would prevent PBM tactics that hinder patients’ access to needed medications!
If PBM reform is not finalized today, PBM legislative reforms will not be possible this year.
A conference committee of House and Senate members tasked with negotiating the bill has already been appointed to discuss the bill and determine if there is a future for PBM reform, and if so, what that might look like. We need your help telling leadership, members of the conference committee, and all Senators to use their position to ensure swift passage of PBM reform bill S2520 as amended by H4891.
