IMPORTANT UPDATE: The New York Times published a major article June 21 that’s described as “the first article in a series about how pharmacy benefit managers prioritize their interests, often at the expense of patients, employers and taxpayers.” The high visibility of this New York Times article will elevate conversations around PBM reform. Read the article “The Middlemen: The Opaque Industry Secretly Inflating Prices for Prescription Drugs" and take action TODAY! WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW MORE THAN EVER! PLEASE TAKE FIVE MINUTES TO ACT! |
Help us push full throttle for pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reforms by adding your voice to those featured in a new advertising campaign calling for Congress to finish the job on PBM reforms! NACDS RxIMPACT is calling on YOU to participate in our letter-writing campaign to tell Congress the “Time Is Now!”
NACDS launched a major national and local advertising campaign that showcases engaged pharmacists, the bipartisan and broad support for PBM reform, and the worsening of problems faced by Americans, pharmacies and communities at the hands of prescription-drug middlemen. The campaign includes cable TV advertising – including national, Washington, D.C., and regional – as well as digital advertising.
The ad captures the energy and urgency of an NACDS Capitol Hill press conference held during the March 2024 NACDS RxIMPACT Day on Capitol Hill event. Thank you to the many pharmacists and pharmacy team members who participated in the event as Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Mike Crapo (R-ID) joined together to call for Congress to act on PBM reform.
Although we hail the important bipartisan work of many important Senate and House committees, leadership, and other PBM-reform advocates, we must push for enactment to make these policies reality! We need YOUR help telling Congress the “Time Is Now” to reduce patients’ drug costs, to stop PBMs from forcing pharmacies to fill prescriptions at a loss, and to ensure Americans can access the pharmacies and medications that are right for them – rather than those that are right for PBMs’ profits.
