Legislation by State Senator Gustavo Rivera (S.3467) and Assemblyman John McDonald, RPh (A.6627B) would expand the list of pharmacist-provided Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA)-waived tests. If enacted, this policy would enable licensed pharmacists to order and administer CLIA-waived tests for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), Group A Streptococcal, HbA1c, Hepatitis C, and HIV.
