NACDS RxIMPACT is urgently reaching out as the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to determine the future fate of critically needed pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reform this week. NACDS RxIMPACT needs your immediate help urging U.S. Representatives to use their role to support and advance real PBM reform TODAY!
As soon as today – or sometime this week – we expect the U.S. House of Representatives to participate in a full house vote on PBM reform. The House will vote on a larger measure that includes provisions of the Drug Pricing Transparency in Medicaid Act, a bill by U.S. Reps. Buddy Carter (R-GA), Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX), Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Deborah Ross (D-NC), Rick Allen (R-GA), and Jake Auchincloss (D-MA) that would crack down on tactics by which “pharmaceutical benefit manipulator” middlemen maximize profits over people. The Medicaid PBM reforms in the legislation would prohibit “spread pricing” in Medicaid and establish a “pass-through payment” model. Provisions of this legislation have been included in the Lower Costs, More Transparency Act (H.R. 5378).
Help NACDS RxIMPACT urge Representatives to support this important measure to address the “pharmaceutical benefit manipulation” that harms the most vulnerable in the Medicaid program. Help us remind leaders that real PBM reform at the federal level needs to include Medicaid and Medicare patients and the pharmacies that serve them. NACDS is circulating a video on Capitol Hill to emphasize this message.
Join this NACDS RxIMPACT effort TODAY to urge your U.S. Representative to advance the provisions of Drug Pricing Transparency in Medicaid Act in this week’s vote and call for additional PBM reform measures to also protect Medicare beneficiaries and the pharmacies that serve them. Simply type in your contact information and the system will generate a personalized communication to your Representative.
