06/05/23 PHARMACY VOTER ALERT (US): NJ Kicks Off 2023 State Legislator Elections!
Action AlertPrepare to join New Jersey Pharmacy Voters in lining up for the June 6 primary election, the first of four states scheduled to elect legislators in 2023. NACDS RxIMPACT is calling on you to rise to the challenge of learning more about who is running for office in your state’s upcoming elections by utilizing pharmacyvoter.org. Although most regularly-scheduled state legislator elections took place in 2022, voters in Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey and Virginia will elect 578 of the 7,383 legislative seats or nearly 10% of regularly-scheduled state legislator elections. On June 6, votes will be cast for 40 seats in the New Jersey State Senate and 80 seats in the New Jersey General Assembly. As an active and engaged Pharmacy Voter, you have seen concrete examples over the years of how state legislators have played a critical role in the future – and fate – of pro-patient and pro-pharmacy policies and whether they are enacted into law. The stakes are high as leaders elected will be positioned to support and advance or oppose and hinder our policy priorities at the state level. It is critical you engage in the election process as 2023 election outcomes will have significant impact on the pharmacy agenda.NACDS RxIMPACT encourages you to visit pharmacyvoter.org to learn more about who is running for office. If you have any questions about this communication, please contact Heidi Ecker, Vice President of Government, Political & Digital Engagement via email at Hecker@nacds.org or phone at 703-837-4121. IMPORTANT NOTE: Our voter registration services are available without regard to the voter’s political preference. Information and other assistance regarding registering or voting, and other services offered, shall not be withheld, or refused on the basis of support for or opposition to particular candidates or a particular party.
