Support Animal Research
Medical breakthroughs don't happen by accident. Vaccines, cancer therapies, treatments for Alzheimer's disease, heart disease, diabetes, and countless other advances have depended on responsible animal research. While innovative non-animal methods continue to advance and should be used whenever scientifically appropriate, they cannot yet fully replicate the complexity of living biological systems.

Congress should support policies that preserve the ability of researchers to use animal models when necessary, while maintaining the rigorous oversight and animal welfare standards already in place. Restricting or eliminating access to essential animal models would slow the development of new treatments, delay cures, and undermine America's leadership in biomedical innovation.

Animal research is conducted under extensive federal regulations, institutional review, veterinary oversight, and ethical standards designed to ensure humane care and responsible use. Researchers remain committed to the principles of replacement, reduction, and refinement while pursuing discoveries that improve and save lives.

Urge Congress to support science-based policies that protect responsible animal research and the patients who depend on medical progress.
