The Leadership Council on Aging Organizations (LCAO), of which Meals on Wheels America is a member, sent a letter to the House and Senate Committee and Subcommittee leaders who will oversee the reauthorization process of the Older Americans Act (OAA). In the Senate, the Chairs are Senator Sanders (I-VT) and Senator Markey (D-MA), while the Ranking Members include Senator Cassidy (R-LA) and Senator Marshall (R-KS). In the House, the Chairs are Representative Foxx (R-NC-05) and Representative Owens (R-UT-04), while the Ranking Members include Representative Scott (D-VA-03), and Representative Wilson (D-FL-24). This letter is in support of reauthorization of the Older Americans Act (OAA) in alignment with the principles of bold investment, innovation and flexibility, diversity and equity, and a bipartisan process. As the letter outlines the specifics of the principles, these are intended to be guiding principles during the reauthorization process.
