Meals on Wheels America, alongside 16 national organizations and the programs supporting them, sent a letter to the Administration for Community Living (ACL) requesting at least a 15-day extension of the current August 15, 2023 deadline to submit comments responding to ACL’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to update Older Americans Act (OAA) regulations. Due to the long and comprehensive process that the NPRM entails, granting an extension would allow for thorough analysis and thoughtful consideration to help update and modernize the regulations of the OAA. UPDATE: In response to our letter, ACL looked into the feasibility of providing an extension and were unable to do so given the processing time it takes to post a notice in the Federal Register.
