Meals on Wheels America President and CEO Ellie Hollander issued a press statement in response to the Bipartisan Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 being signed into law by President Biden following bipartisan support in the House and Senate. Meals on Wheels America is relieved that a bipartisan deal was reached and the catastrophic consequences of default and proposed spending cuts were avoided. We now turn our attention to the annual appropriations process and urge Congress to provide additional funding for the Older Americans Act (OAA) in Fiscal Year (FY) 2024, including a minimum of $1.3 billion for senior nutrition services.
