Meals on Wheels America Sends 2023 Farm Bill Nutrition Recommendations to House and Senate Agriculture Committees
June 9, 2023 by Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels America President and CEO Ellie Hollander sent key policy priorities and recommendations to the House Committee on Agriculture and Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry to inform the 2023 Farm Bill reauthorization process. The Farm Bill is an essential piece of federal legislation that covers commodities, conservation, nutrition, rural development, and much more. Reauthorized every five years, the Farm Bill is important to Meals on Wheels and older adults due to the emphasis on federal nutrition programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) and other federal nutrition programs administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). You can also send your own Farm Bill recommendations and comments for the Senate here and the House here
