With rising gas prices and the need for programs to support their essential volunteers, Meals on Wheels America joined Independent Sector and the National Council of Nonprofits in sending letters to the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee urging action on legislation to increase the charitable mileage rate from 14 cents/mile to 62.5 cents/mile as they negotiate tax legislation before the end of the year. You can read the letters to the House here and Senate here.
