Meals on Wheels America joined over 400 other national, state and local organizations by signing on to a letter led by the Coalition on Human Needs (CHN) urging Congress to work swiftly to approve increases in domestic and international program funding (known as non-defense discretionary, or NDD funding) in Fiscal Year (FY) 2023. The letter focuses on service providers in the public or private sectors and makes the case that any funding levels below what the House proposed earlier in the year would jeopardize the ability to respond to urgent human needs and imperil capacity to help Americans who need it.
