Each year, May is dedicated to celebrating the important contributions older Americans have made to this country and continue to make every day. Older Americans Month (OAM) is a time to honor the older adults in our lives and an opportunity to raise awareness about the issues that many seniors face, like hunger and isolation.

Meals on Wheels federal funding is currently at risk. As an intense funding battle between the House and Senate is underway, we must be loud, visible and compelling in our advocacy to ensure that the needs of older adults struggling with hunger and isolation remain top of mind on Capitol Hill. In March, we celebrate Meals on Wheels and the collaboration of nutrition programs, businesses, government and community members that work together to promote the health and well-being of our nation’s seniors. Meals on Wheels programs are joining forces to celebrate the Older Americans Act (OAA) Nutrition Program and raise critical awareness and support for senior nutrition programs. March for Meals is the perfect opportunity to invite your Members of Congress to witness the power of Meals on Wheels and the positive impact of federal investments for the program in your communities.
