CALL TO ACTION: Support School Safety Legislation
Calling all advocates!  We have the opportunity to support a package of school safety legislation in the Michigan Legislature.

These bills create a school safety and mental health commission (HB 4089); strengthen tip reporting under OK2Say (HB 4092); require that public schools and nonpublic schools adopt and implement a standardized response terminology plan (HB 4095); require the Michigan Department of Education to establish a standardized response terminology plan (HB 4096); require schools to create behavioral threat assessment and management teams (HB 5549); require DHHS to develop and provide information regarding the safe storage of firearms (HB5450), and require districts to provide to parents and legal guardians information regarding the safe storage of firearms (HB 5451).

Students in Michigan are encountering increased mental health challenges, bullying, and school violence – we need your voice now!

Please add your personal testimony about why this school safety legislation is important to you and your family.
