Newborn Screening Passes the US House
June 24, 2021 by Mark Fisher

BIG NEWS. The U.S. House just passed the Newborn Screening Saves Lives Reauthorization Act (HR 482)! This momentous achievement was made possible because of the actions of advocates like you. Your voices were critical in this victory for babies across the country.

And for that, we wanted to say thank you.

Newborn screening is the most effective way to spot diseases early, so babies can receive the life changing and lifesaving treatment they need, when they need it. Not only will this bill reauthorize the program, but it will also strengthen it.

As we celebrate this win, the action now moves to the U.S. Senate. If you haven’t already, please urge your Senators to cosponsor the Newborn Screening Saves Lives Reauthorization Act (S. 350) today.
