Dr. Phelton Moss, Managing Director, Government Relations for the National School Boards Association joined MASB at it's Behind the Scenes at the Capitol event on May 20. He gave an update on federal education policy issues, as well as the President’s shift of many of the jobs from the Department of Education to other areas of the federal government. He also spoke about the tax credit program to redirect federal education dollars away from public schools, explaining that there still is not a lot of detail on how the program would work. Many states are waiting to decide whether to opt in or not based on the rules that are created.
