HB 2927 - OPPOSE
HB 2927 - LaShawn Ford (D): suspends history taught in schools for the 2025-2026 school year so that the 2026-2027 school year textbooks will re-frame history with the inclusion of “diverse perspectives, contrary interpretations, and the viewpoints from various groups … traditionally excluded.” 

Lawmakers have already made it a requirement that for 8th graders to graduate, they must be proficient in the accomplishments of LGBTQ individuals. This re-framing of history will include this and more.
