Oppose HB 2343 - State Loans for Cannabis "Social Equity Applicants"
HB 2343 - Rep. Marcus Evans (D): Provides state loans and grants for "social equity applicants" to open cannabis shops. It also allows for "loan forgiveness."

"Social Equity Applicants" are those that have previously been arrested or convicted for violating the Cannabis Control Act (before cannabis became legal in Illinois) and have had their records expunged. Or a person qualifies if any family member has been previously arrested or convicted for violating the Cannabis Control Act. Or a person qualifies if they have lived in a "Disproportionately Impacted Area," meaning an area where there have been a concentration of previous arrests and convictions.

Urge your state rep to VOTE NO if HB 2343 passes out of committee.
