HB 1596 Deletes Gender-Specific Pronouns in Numerous Illinois Statutes
HB 1596 deletes gender-specific pronouns in numerous laws pertaining to children. Wherever the act formerly stated, “he or she,” or “his or her” it now says, “the minor,” or “the child,” or “the applicant,” or “the member.” And this is throughout the entire proposal.

This bill is now in the Illinois Senate after passing in the Illinois House by a partisan vote of 72 to 37 on March 21st.

Please send a message to your State Senator to urge him or her to vote down HB 1596. You may want to point out that the people of Illinois do not want lawmakers to re-write the English language to accommodate the demands of a group of left-wing ideologues.
