Thanks to the relentless advocacy of our members, the House has passed H.R. 82, the Social Security Fairness Act, by a decisive 327-75. But now the clock is ticking. If the Senate doesn’t act before the 118th Congress concludes, this long-awaited repeal of the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO) will end—along with the stolen benefits our retirees have waited decades to reclaim. The stakes are high, and we’re running out of time. Every fire fighter must call on their Senators to bring Social Security Fairness Act to a vote. We cannot afford to lose this fight; Congress must act now to end the unjust theft of Social Security benefits from our retired public servants.
