Aysegul Timur, Ph.D., has been officially confirmed as FGCU’s fifth president. The unanimous vote by the Florida Board of Governors took place this afternoon at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Timur will take over presidential duties on July 1, following President Mike Martin’s retirement on June 30. 

As we celebrate the historic appointment of President Timur, we are also parting ways with President Martin. He has served our university well over the past six years, setting the bar high and putting our university on a trajectory for ongoing excellence. He will be missed.
