Take Action for Michigan's Diversity! Support the 'Holiday Bill Package'
Michigan's strength lies in its diverse communities, and now, we have a chance to celebrate and honor this diversity like never before. House Bills 4446, 4447, 4448, and 4449, collectively known as the 'Holiday Bill Package,' have already passed the State House.
These bills seek to recognize Eid al-Adha, Eid al-Fitr, Diwali, Lunar New Year, and Vaisakhi as official state holidays. These occasions are deeply significant to Michiganders from various backgrounds, including Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and East/Southeast Asians.
The Holiday Bill Package, however, is at risk of stalling in the State Senate.
Join us in taking action today! Use this online platform to urge your State Senators to (1) prioritize these bills by placing them on the State Senate Agenda, (2) support the Holiday Bill Package, and (3) cast a vote in favor of these bills when the time comes. By doing so, you'll help make history by officially recognizing these holidays, fostering inclusivity, and showing the world that Michigan is a place where every culture and faith is respected and celebrated.
