Urge your senators to include PCHETA in an end-of-year legislative package!
Please join us in advocating for increased access to palliative care training and education as part of an online week of action focused on supporting the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act (PCHETA). Along with our partner organizations at the Patient Quality of Life Coalition, HPNA’s advocacy team will be meeting with Senate offices in Washington to urge them to include PCHETA as they work to pass an end-of-year appropriations package.

We need your help in writing to your senators as part of this effort, and it is easy to do so through our action center.

PCHETA would expand opportunities for interdisciplinary education and training in palliative care, including through new education centers and career incentive awards for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, social workers and other health professionals. The bill would also implement an awareness campaign, to inform patients and healthcare providers about the benefits of palliative care and hospice and the services available to support individuals with serious illness, as well as direct funding toward palliative care research to strengthen clinical practice and health care delivery.

As always, thank you for your support of and participation in HPNA’s advocacy initiatives!
