- Emergency nurses experience a violent event every 2 months.
- In 2018, health care workers accounted for 73% of violence-related injuries requiring missed work days.
- 33% of emergency nurses have considered leaving the profession entirely due to violent assaults.
The Safety From Violence for Healthcare Employees (SAVE) Act, H.R. 2584/ S. 2768, provides new tools to federal prosecutors to address violence against our nation’s health care workers. The SAVE Act would make it a federal crime to assault hospital personnel and provide for even harsher penalties if the assault occurs during a public emergency.
Contact your representatives and senators and urge them to support H.R. 2584/ S. 2768 which would provide new tools to the federal government to combat violence against emergency nurses.
